Ignore the question about a Connect Space account. You do not need to create an account to register.</li><li>On the right side of your screen, go to the Payment Option section. The system defaults to credit card. If you're paying by credit card, leave that option and click on the Process Payment box and input your credit card information to complete your registration. Click on the Registration Details box to review your registration. This acts as your receipt.</li><li>If you're paying by check, click on the box in Payment Options and select Pay By Invoice. The Instructions box will provide information on how your check should be made out and where it should be mailed. That information will also appear on the invoice you will receive with your emailed confirmation message. Click on the Process Payment box to complete your registration and then the Registration Details box to review your registration. Note on invoice:<ol><li>You will receive the invoice with the confirmation message that will be sent to the email address with which you register.</li><li>Your name (or the person for whom you registered) will appear on the invoice in parentheses. ABOUT THE WEBINAR
This presentation will provide a broad overview of what data driven decision making is and why it is important to use data for making programmatic decisions. The process of data driven decision making will be discussed, including the types of data available and the pros and cons of the different types of data. Secondary data sources will be presented from both the local and state levels and attendees will engage with the presenter in an interactive walk-through of accessing data in a few secondary data sources.

WEBINAR OBJECTIVES

Describe what data driven decision making is, why it is important, and what it can be used for.
Describe how data driven decision making is done relative to program goals and who the target audience is.
Identify at least three types of data that can be used to make decisions, available data sources and considerations for selecting data.
Identify at least two available secondary data sources at the state and local levels and navigate a few selected examples.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Tasha Kelley-Stiles, MSW, is an Evaluation Specialist at the Michigan Public Health Instititute's Center for Healthy Communities. She has been involved in public health and violence prevention research for more that 15 years. She currently acts as an evaluator on Michigan's Rape Prevention and Education Program, Michigan's Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program, Michigan's Family to Family Health Information Center, and various parent leadership projects. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Michigan State University and Masters in Social Work from the University of Michigan.
