Community Advisory Councils (CAC) are not simply a requirement—they are essential in the support and success of a vibrant school-based health center. This session will provide an overview of the program requirements and spark ideas and discussions on creating a valuable CAC. You will be encouraged and motivated to enter the new school year with ideas to revitalize your CAC and/or Youth Advisory Council! This session will also include a panel discussion, so you can hear directly from your experienced peers on what works for their community!

Overview of budget submissions, financial status reports (FSR), and end-of-the year requirements for EGrAMS sites. This includes obligation reports, final FSRs, and spending down of the grant. We'll review allowable and unallowable costs, indirect, estimation of fees/collections/amendments, correcting an FSR, and permissions in EGrAMS. Q&A to follow.

This session will define vaccine hesitancy; outline a compassionate approach to address vaccine hesitancy using a practice using a stepwise approach to address vaccine hesitancy.

This breakout session will provide emotion regulation strategies for use in school-based settings when students are experiencing worry and/or anxiety. The session will include ideas for preventatively teaching students strategies to decrease anxiety, as well as how to coach students to use strategies in the moment. Participants will learn how to recognize the signs and symptoms of students who may experiencing anxiety in a school-setting, thereby facilitating the implementation of strategies in appropriate moments.

In this session, CAHC program staff and school-based partners will present real-world case scenarios involving complex clinical and mental health challenges. Participants will work in small groups to analyze each case and develop strengths-based solutions. After group discussions, the original presenters will share how the cases were actually resolved, offering insights and lessons learned from real-life practice.

During this session, we will review population health lens for firearm injury prevention; identify patients to screen for firearm injury risk; review the principles of secure storage and secure staging; and discuss practice screening and counseling.
